§ 10.16.050. Parking limitations.

  • A.

    It shall be unlawful to park a motor vehicle of any type within the areas hereinafter designated for more than the specified time, all as set forth in Exhibit F, as amended, attached to the ordinance codified in this chapter, and on file in the City Clerk's office.

    B.

    The charge for unlawful use or violation of the use of parking space as herein specified, including Exhibit F, as amended, attached to the ordinance codified in this chapter, and on file in the City Clerk's office, made a part hereof, shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00) if paid within twenty-four (24) hours of the time of violation; twenty-five dollars ($25.00) if paid within forty-eight (48) hours of the time of violation; fifty dollars ($50.00) if paid at any time more than forty-eight (48) hours after occurrence of the offense and prior to the filing of a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fourth Judicial Circuit. The minimum fine for violation of this section if prosecuted in court shall be seventy-five dollars ($75.00). The charge for unlawful use or violation of the parking space and ordinance may be paid by deposit of the amount required in the Office of the City Clerk of the city, during business hours, and otherwise at the Police Station Desk Communications Office of the city when accompanied by appropriate designation of the location of the offense together with the date and time thereof.

    C.

    This section shall be in full force and effect and shall be enforced as to all spaces having appropriate signs in the vicinity thereof specifying the duration of parking time permitted.

    D.

    Parking spaces in front of or to the side of the following businesses, agencies or other offices are designated as spaces for the use of motor vehicles operated by or to the benefit of handicapped persons only. Such spaces shall be so marked, identified or signed and the use of the same shall be and the same is restricted to use by the handicapped for a continuous period not to exceed thirty (30) minutes. It shall be a violation of this section for any vehicle to use or park within said parking area unless the vehicle shall be in use for the transportation of a handicapped person.

    F.

    It shall be unlawful to park a motor vehicle within the Second Street public right-of-way on the West side of Second Street between Gallatin Street and Johnson Street.
